Nicole Smith and Seth Adams

Nicole Smith and Seth Adams have to be one of my all time favorite couples . They are the epitome of southern grace and charm. Nicole has proven herself to keep her cool under pressure and always be the lady she is. She is a pleasure to work with. I look forward to their upcoming nuptials on April 2nd, 2011. They are to be wed on campus at Ole Miss in Oxford,Ms. Their reception will be held at the Powerhouse in Oxford as well. Like always, I pray for one thing, perfection.

Twice as Chic Photography

Ladies, let's face it, nothing is worse than a bad picture of ourselves. I have put off adding one to my profile because I simply HATE having my picture taken. So, I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome of my head shot from a super talented girl by the name of CRYSTAL BRISCO with TWICE AS CHIC PHOTOGRAPHY.
If she can make me look good, imagine what she can do with a bride, or even better, our little cuties that we love to photograph. So, let's show our girl some love and refer her to our friends in need.

Elizabeth Sumrall and J.D. Sledd

Elizabeth and J.D. were wed on Feb 19th with a reception held at The Botanic Gardens in Memphis,Tn. In my professional opinion, I have to say, that this was one for the books. I knew we were in for a good time due to the fact that I have had the pleasure of working for Elizabeth's father who is the owner of The Half Shell restaurant. Danny Sumrall is known for his gregarious nature, large circle of friends and most importantly, great food!
Needless to say, I was not surprised when a total of 517 guests arrived ready to have a good time. Elizabeth and J.D. did not disappoint. The Soul Shockers rocked the stage , the decor composed mainly of red roses were done by Holliday's Florist and Half Shell catered the food and provided their signature Chocolate Martini.
This was a fairytale wedding and may they live Happily Ever after.

Welcome to Sallie Tyler Events!

I have had a love of parties since I can remember and I distinctly remember working my first wedding. My aunt and uncle owned a restaurant in the Brinkley Plaza, in downtown Memphis, which is now Felicia Suzanne's. At the ripe old age of 13, I was given a black dress, a white apron, and a tray of canapes. It was love at first sight.

Seeing the event as it began, seeing all the vendors arrive with all the beautiful things, and at the end of the evening talking with the bride as she set on the back steps barefoot made me feel like I was given a VIP backstage pass to the best event in town.
So began my illustrious career in the restaurant business which eventually got me through college with an Art degree. From that point I tried to learn as much as I could about what goes into making a great event. I learned to make a few tasty cocktails, crank out a good centerpiece, place the fork and knife where they need to go, and I don't mind delegating the rest of  it to a list of talented people that I have worked with many times over the course of my career.
Most importantly, I believe that a great party planner is the best kept secret of any great party!
My experience includes event coordination positions at Esplanade Memphis, Lillie Belle's Wedding and Event Venue in Franklin, Tennessee, and Boxwood Bistro in Franklin, Tennessee.
Welcome to my blog!
